Some things to remember about selling on Etsy and how affiliates can benefit from spending some time there whether you plan to sell there or not (by the way I don’t work for Etsy, not consulting with them and not recruiting for them, just see an opportunity for folks to be able to expand and diversity. Everyone here is creative in their own way and might benefit from knowing about this place):

1. Market Research. You can see *everything* ever sold on Etsy. You do a search on something, find people selling it, and click on their “sold items”. Before you even launch a store you can determine what sells and what doesn’t and how the seller constructed their listings.

2. The Storque. Etsy has a whole section on how to market. All FREE. All good stuff. Because if you sell, they make money. So they want to teach you how to sell. Onsite and offsite.

People think of Etsy as “crafty”, it isn’t. It’s handmade. There is a difference Merchants and affiliates alike can find good marketing information and inspiration by spending a couple hours looking around. That doesn’t mean go steal someone else’s designs, it means look at what sells, look at what *you do* or can do, and go do it yourself.
